Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso has charged Nigerian youths to take decisive roles in enterprise, innovation, and leadership as catalysts for sustainable national development.

Speaking as Chairman at the 5th Anniversary and Extraordinary Convention of the Progressive Abia Youths, themed “Reimagining Governance: Youth Leadership, Technology and Sustainable National Development — Appraising Our Journey, Organizing the Future,” Anyaso declared that the era of passive youth participation in governance is over.

He urged young people to move beyond complaints and position themselves as active contributors to governance, economic productivity, and nation-building.

“Entrepreneurship remains the greatest training ground for leadership. It builds discipline, accountability, problem-solving skills, and economic independence—qualities essential for effective governance,” he said.

On developments in Abia State, Anyaso commended Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s administration, noting what he described as a clear shift from promises to tangible performance. He highlighted improvements in infrastructure, renewed public confidence, and purposeful governance as indicators of progress.

He, however, stressed the need for continuity, urging youths and stakeholders to support reforms aimed at sustaining the state’s development trajectory.

Anyaso also challenged young Nigerians to adopt a mindset anchored on value creation, technology, skills acquisition, and innovation, rather than reliance on government jobs.

Declaring the convention open, he called on participants to think boldly, build capacity, and lead with integrity in shaping Nigeria’s future.

The event attracted youth leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and key stakeholders committed to advancing youth inclusion in governance and national development.
