Anyaso Foundation Restores Hope as Free Eye Outreach Reaches More Bende Communities

Residents of Alayi, Ugwueke, Umuhu, Ozuitem, Uzuakoli and Nkpa-Umuimenyi wards in Bende Federal Constituency have continued to benefit from the sustained humanitarian interventions of Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, as the Chima Anyaso Foundation’s ongoing free eye care outreach recorded massive participation on its third and fourth days in Igbere.

The medical outreach, organised by the Chima Anyaso Foundation in collaboration with Rebirth Ministry and Precious Sight Foundation, and supported by the Abia State Government, drew large crowds of beneficiaries comprising elderly persons, youths and children seeking free eye care services.

The programme, which is part of the foundation’s long-standing humanitarian initiatives spanning over 18 years, is aimed at improving healthcare access and enhancing the wellbeing of residents across Bende and neighbouring communities.

Activities at the outreach centre commenced early on both days, with buses provided by the foundation conveying beneficiaries from various wards to the venue for medical attention.

Medical experts and volunteers attended to patients through comprehensive eye examinations, treatments and referrals for advanced care where necessary. Many beneficiaries described the intervention as timely and life-changing, particularly for residents who had long battled untreated eye conditions due to poor access to healthcare services.

Some participants expressed gratitude to Dr. Anyaso and the organisers, noting that the programme had restored hope to families struggling with vision-related challenges while also boosting confidence among affected persons.

Representatives of the Chima Anyaso Foundation reiterated the organisation’s commitment to delivering impactful interventions to underserved communities, stressing that the outreach reflects Dr. Anyaso’s enduring passion for humanitarian service and community development.

According to the organisers, the successful turnout recorded during the third and fourth days further underscored the foundation’s resolve to tackle critical eye health concerns and improve the quality of life of residents across the constituency.

The outreach programme is expected to continue until Friday, with residents of Bende and Itumbauzo wards scheduled to benefit in the next phase.

Residents of Igbere and neighbouring communities have continued to commend the initiative, expressing optimism that the programme will further expand its reach in restoring sight and bringing renewed hope to more people across the area.
