Presbyterian Church Honours Chimaobi Anyaso as ‘Beacon of Hope and Love’

The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, St. Barnabas Parish, Aba, has conferred its prestigious “Beacon of Hope and Love” award on renowned philanthropist, entrepreneur, and humanitarian, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to humanity and community development.
The honour was bestowed during the church’s grand celebration of its Fourth Anniversary as a Parish and the Dedication of its Ultramodern Manse, held on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Presenting the award, the Minister-in-Charge of the parish, Rev. Eke Anyaku, described Dr. Anyaso as a compassionate and visionary leader whose philanthropic interventions and commitment to human development have continued to uplift lives and inspire hope across communities.
According to the cleric, the recognition was in appreciation of Dr. Anyaso’s unwavering dedication to service, his passion for humanitarian causes, and his consistent efforts toward empowering individuals and supporting vulnerable members of society.
“Dr. Anyaso’s commitment to the welfare of others and his selfless contributions to community development have made him a shining example of hope and love,” Rev. Anyaku stated.
Dr. Anyaso was represented at the ceremony by former Commissioner for Environment and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, who received the award on his behalf.
Responding to the honour, Onuoha expressed profound gratitude to the church leadership and congregation for finding Dr. Anyaso worthy of the recognition. He reaffirmed the philanthropist’s commitment to advancing initiatives that promote human welfare, community development, and sustainable empowerment.
He noted that the award would serve as further encouragement for Dr. Anyaso to continue touching lives and supporting meaningful causes that contribute to societal progress.
The event attracted an array of church leaders, dignitaries, members of the congregation, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the parish’s milestone anniversary and the dedication of the newly completed ultramodern manse.
