Anyaso Signs ‘Bende Prosperity Contract’, Pledges Two-Term Tenure

The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Dr Chima Desmond Anyaso, has signed the “Bende Prosperity Contract”, pledging to serve for a maximum of two terms if elected.
The document, tagged “Walk With Me,” was publicly presented and signed in the presence of traditional rulers, community leaders, President Generals, political stakeholders, religious leaders, youths and other stakeholders from across the constituency.

The blueprint outlines commitments in agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, enterprise development, sports, security and environmental sustainability.
Anyaso described the document as a covenant with the people of Bende rather than a conventional political manifesto, urging constituents to scrutinise its contents and hold him accountable for his commitments.

He also pledged not to seek a third term, citing the political understanding between the Umunna and Ikwuisii blocs.
«“I will respect that understanding. I will serve my term with the knowledge that power is not personal property. I will not seek a third term.”»

He said he would, at the appropriate time, support an Ikwuisii candidate to succeed him, stressing that “leadership must create successors, not permanent occupants.”
The Labour Party candidate promised to attract federal interventions in roads, healthcare, education and youth development, while insisting that publicly funded projects should be regarded as the people’s rights rather than personal favours from politicians.

He also urged supporters not to be intimidated ahead of the 2027 election, declaring: “We are winning this one! The power belongs to you.”
Anyaso condemned electoral violence and appealed to youths not to allow themselves to be used as political thugs, saying, “No election is worth your life. No politician’s ambition is worth destroying your future.”

Speaking at the event, the District Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Umuahia North Jerusalem, Rev. James Ndukwe, commended Anyaso’s humility and stressed the importance of humility and God-fearing leadership.
The Director General of the Chima Anyaso Campaign Organisation, Pastor Okechukwu Dike, said the event was organised to enable Anyaso publicly commit himself before the traditional and community leadership of Bende.

The Mayor of Bende Local Government Area, Hon. DCN Uwabunkonye Bassey, described the Prosperity Contract as evidence of Anyaso’s preparedness for leadership and expressed confidence in his candidacy.
Similarly, the Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike, expressed confidence in the party’s victory in Bende, saying the contents of the contract demonstrated Anyaso’s commitment to the constituency.

Other speakers, including Labour Party chieftain and ECK Foundation founder, Chief Emeka Kalu, and the President General of Item, Prince Okenwa Ichie, endorsed Anyaso’s candidacy and urged voters to protect their mandate.
The Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, was represented by Prof. Ijeoma Iheukwumere, who conveyed the Governor’s goodwill and assured Anyaso of the Labour Party’s support.

Anyaso urged the people of Bende to keep the Prosperity Contract as a reference document and hold him accountable to its commitments if elected.
“Read it, question it, keep it. And if you give me your mandate, hold me to it. I am ready,” he said.
