Item Methodist Women Commit Chima Anyaso’s 2027 Ambition to God, Pray for Victory

The women of the Methodist Diocese of Item have committed the political aspiration of the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Anyaso, into the hands of God, offering prayers for divine guidance, favour and victory ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The prayers were offered on Friday, September 11, 2026, during the Diocesan Women Conference held at the Methodist Church, Akanu Item, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

The women prayed for God’s continued presence in Dr. Anyaso’s life and aspiration, asking Him to grant the candidate the desires of his heart and provide him with wisdom and direction as he seeks to represent the people of Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Leading the prayers, the Bishop of the Methodist Diocese of Item, Rt. Rev. Dr. Ikechukwu Emezi Nkulo, assured Dr. Anyaso of God’s intervention, drawing from the theme of the conference.

The Bishop described the Methodist Church as a focused and compassionate institution committed to serving humanity, stressing that the church remains dedicated to caring for people and advancing the wellbeing of society.

“Methodist is a very focused church in serving humanity. This is a caring church,” he said.

He further highlighted the assurance embedded in the conference theme, declaring: “The Lord has assured us that He will fight for us.”

Dr. Anyaso, who attended the conference following an invitation by the women’s leadership, expressed appreciation to the Bishop, Dame Uzoma Nkulo-led women leadership and the entire women of the Item Diocese for their hospitality, prayers and continued support.

“I came to honour the invitation for the conference that I was invited to by the women leadership led by Dame Uzoma Nkulo,” he said.

The Labour Party candidate said his visit was also an opportunity to personally meet the women, appreciate their support and solicit their continued prayers and goodwill as he pursues his aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency.

“We said we should come and meet you people to appreciate you all and the Methodist Church for your prayers and continued support,” Anyaso stated.

He assured the women that, if elected to represent the constituency, he would remain committed to the people and discharge the mandate entrusted to him with dedication and accountability.

He pledged that he would not disappoint the people of Bende Federal Constituency if given the opportunity to serve them at the National Assembly.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of the Campaign Council, the Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Campaign Organization, Pastor Okechukwu Dike, thanked the Bishop, the women’s leadership and the entire women of the Item Diocese for receiving the campaign team.

Dike expressed appreciation for the prayers and goodwill extended to Dr. Anyaso, assuring the gathering that the Labour Party candidate would remain accountable to the people and uphold the confidence reposed in him if elected in 2027.
