Prince Agwu Udensi Empowers Farmers in Item, Bende LGA under Chima Anyaso Foundatio

Inspired by the grassroots empowerment philosophy of Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, a renowned farmer and community leader, Prince Agwu Udensi, popularly known as Zonal, has empowered rural farmers across the three wards of Item Okpi in Bende Local Government Area.
The empowerment programme, organized under the Chima Anyaso Foundation, witnessed the distribution of free improved cassava stems, maize, pumpkin, okra, and other farm inputs to genuine rural farmers drawn from the three wards in Item clan.
Speaking during the event, Prince Udensi explained that the initiative was conceived to complement Dr. Anyaso’s consistent philanthropic interventions and agricultural support programmes across Bende Federal Constituency.
According to him, Dr. Anyaso’s contributions toward community development and grassroots empowerment inspired him to support farmers during the current farming season through the provision of hybrid cassava stems, improved seeds, and financial assistance to boost agricultural productivity.
Earlier, the Project Coordinator, Dr. N. C. Eke, described the programme as evidence that many stakeholders, especially youths, are beginning to emulate and replicate Ofuji’s philosophy of giving and community service. He noted that the initiative was strategically designed to promote food sufficiency and rural economic sustainability.
In her keynote address, the Women Leader of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Mrs. Arisa Okparigbo, urged beneficiaries to continue supporting Dr. Anyaso, whose empowerment programmes have positively impacted farmers and vulnerable groups across the constituency.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Councillor representing Item Ward A, Hon. John Onwukwe, the Labour Party Chairman of Item Ward A, Mr. Chukwu Goodluck Ironua, the Abia Arise Coordinator for Item C, Mr. Onuoha Kingsley Chukwuemeka, and community stakeholder Mrs. Cordelia Chukwu, described the intervention as historic, noting that all beneficiaries of the programme were women a significant step toward promoting women’s economic empowerment in Bende.
Delivering remarks as Special Guest of Honour, the Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, commended Prince Udensi for the thoughtful initiative aimed at complementing Dr. Anyaso’s humanitarian efforts.
He emphasized that the activities of Dr. Anyaso and his supporters align with and complement the developmental strides of Governor Alex Chioma Otti in Abia State.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Blessing Abianyi, Mrs. Comfort Okorafor, and Mrs. Ngozi Kalu, Women Leaders of the Labour Party in Item C, who expressed appreciation to the organizers and prayed for continued progress and prosperity for Dr. Anyaso.
Highlights of the event included the distribution of improved cassava stems, grains and assorted seeds, as well as cash support of ₦10,000 to each beneficiary farmer, alongside songs, prayers, and expressions of solidarity in support of Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso.
