2027: Nwaogu Declares Abia Central Senate Bid, Harps on Experience and Party Unity

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, has formally declared her intention to contest the Abia Central Senatorial District seat, setting the stage for a potentially keen contest ahead of the next general elections.
Nwaogu made the declaration on Monday in her hometown of Amaitolu Mbutu Umuojima Ward 2, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State, where she addressed a large gathering of party supporters, stakeholders and community members.
Speaking at the event, the former lawmaker underscored the critical role of experience in legislative responsibilities, noting that effective lawmaking demands competence, institutional knowledge and a firm grasp of governance.
“Legislation is not an all-comers affair. It requires experience, capacity and a clear understanding of the workings of government to deliver meaningful representation,” she stated.
The APC stalwart also used the occasion to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, calling on party faithful to remain united and committed to securing victory for the party in future elections.
She urged members to close ranks and intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts, stressing that cohesion within the party would be key to achieving electoral success across the state and beyond.
