A fresh wave of resignations has rocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, with several prominent figures from the party’s “old bloc” dumping the ruling party amid allegations of marginalisation and exclusion from leadership structures.

Party insiders disclosed on Wednesday that the aggrieved members have accused newly admitted entrants reportedly aligned with Governor Peter Mbah of dominating the party’s hierarchy at the expense of long-standing loyalists.

According to sources familiar with the development, the defectors are currently engaged in high-level consultations and are expected to formally align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the coming days.

The unfolding development signals deepening internal divisions within the Enugu APC and raises concerns over the party’s cohesion ahead of future political contests in the state.
