Atuma Hails Kalu at Birthday, Describes Deputy Speaker as Pillar of Leadership

Abia Central All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has extended warm birthday felicitations to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, describing him as a defining force in Nigeria’s legislative landscape.

In a statement marking the occasion, Atuma joined party faithful and political stakeholders across the country in celebrating Kalu, whom he characterised as one of the most influential figures to have emerged from Abia State in contemporary Nigerian politics.

According to Atuma, the Deputy Speaker’s impact transcends the office he occupies, noting that his contributions have helped shape legislative processes and strengthen democratic governance in Nigeria.

“What distinguishes Benjamin Okezie Kalu is not merely the position he holds, but the depth of leadership and value he brings to it,” Atuma said. “He represents a model of discipline, resilience and purposeful service, demonstrating that leadership is earned through commitment and performance.”

He further commended Kalu’s record in the National Assembly, citing his role in sponsoring key bills, advancing significant legislative reforms, and representing Nigeria at international parliamentary engagements.

Atuma noted that such achievements underscore Abia State’s capacity to produce leaders capable of excelling at the highest levels of national service.

The APC chieftain also highlighted Kalu’s strategic importance to the party in the South-East, describing him as a stabilising figure whose loyalty to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strengthened the party’s standing in the region.

“As the APC in Abia continues to reposition ahead of the 2027 general elections, the example set by leaders like the Deputy Speaker—visible, impactful and people-oriented—should serve as a benchmark for aspirants and public office holders,” he added.
