The Labour Party’s candidate for Bende Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has arrived in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, to participate in the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Ife Institute of Advanced Studies at Harvard University, where he will serve as a panelist on the theme, “Leadership, Governance and Institutional Trust.”

Dr. Anyaso, whose journey of service began in Bende, Abia State, and has since expanded to national and international platforms, described the opportunity as another important moment to contribute to conversations shaping the future of Africa and the developing world.

Reflecting on Africa’s development trajectory, he stressed that the continent’s progress would depend less on the abundance of its natural resources and more on the quality of its leadership, the strength of its institutions and the level of trust between governments and citizens.

According to him, sustainable growth and meaningful development can only be achieved when institutions are strengthened, governance is driven by accountability, and leaders remain committed to serving the people.

The conference, which brings together distinguished scholars, policymakers, business leaders and development experts from across the globe, will provide a platform for robust discussions on governance, institutional reforms and strategies for building public trust.

Dr. Anyaso noted that he looks forward to sharing Nigeria’s story, exchanging ideas with global thought leaders and gaining fresh insights that can contribute to nation-building and community development efforts back home.

“I carry with me the hopes, values and resilience of our people. Every stage I stand on is a reminder that with vision, integrity and commitment to service, no dream is beyond reach,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting leadership founded on integrity, service and transformational impact.

The Harvard University conference is scheduled to hold in June 2026 as part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of the Ife Institute of Advanced Studies.
