Nduka Anyanwu dumps APC, joins Labour Party, cites Otti’s transformational leadership

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Hon. Nduka Anyanwu (Ggburugburu), has formally resigned from the party and joined the Labour Party (LP), citing the developmental strides of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, as a major reason for his decision.

Anyanwu made the declaration during a ceremony held at his country home in Eziama Ossah, Ibeku, Umuahia, where he described the move as a “historic moment” in his political journey and commitment to the service of Abia State.

The politician said his decision followed extensive consultations with his family, political associates, supporters, stakeholders and well-meaning Abians who desire sustainable growth and development for the state.

While appreciating the APC for the opportunities and relationships built during his time in the party, Anyanwu said leadership was ultimately about service, vision and commitment to the common good.

According to him, his decision to join the Labour Party was influenced by what he described as Governor Otti’s “remarkable developmental strides” since assuming office.

He noted that the administration had recorded visible progress in areas including road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, environmental sanitation, security and restoration of public confidence in governance.

“Good governance deserves support irrespective of political differences. I have chosen to join the Labour Party to contribute my quota towards sustaining and advancing the transformational agenda of Governor Alex Otti for the benefit of all Abians,” Anyanwu said.

He described his defection as more than a political move, but a patriotic decision aimed at contributing to the collective development and prosperity of Abia State.

Anyanwu urged his supporters and political associates to join him in supporting the state government’s development agenda, stressing the need for unity of purpose beyond party lines.

He also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Labour Party in Abia State, including the State Working Committee, local government and ward executives, party faithful, community leaders, youths and women for welcoming him into the party.

The former APC leader pledged his commitment to working with other stakeholders to build an Abia State that future generations would be proud of.

He concluded by calling for continued support for good governance and prayed for the progress of Ibeku East Ward 2, Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State and Nigeria.
