₦300m Cancer Fraud Allegation: EFCC Grills Blessing CEO Over Cyberbullying, Forgery Claims

A popular social media personality, Blessing Okoro Nkiruka, widely known as Blessing CEO, has been petitioned before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of cyberbullying, forgery, and a multi-million naira fundraising scam.

In a formal petition dated April 8, 2026, the family of Mrs. Mbara Deborah, a cancer survivor, accused the relationship blogger of manipulating medical records to fraudulently solicit over ₦300 million from unsuspecting Nigerians.

The petition, filed by S.M. Anyanwu & Co (Chieze Chambers) on behalf of Mrs. Deborah, alleges that Blessing CEO exploited her social media influence to monetise the victim’s health condition under false pretences.

According to the document, Deborah, a beauty entrepreneur based in Asaba, Delta State, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025 at Xinus Medical Diagnostic Centre.

However, the petitioner claims that Blessing CEO who had previously patronised Deborah’s makeup business obtained her medical records and allegedly altered them to indicate a more severe Stage 4 cancer diagnosis in order to attract public sympathy and donations.

“The suspect used the altered report to defraud innocent Nigerians who contributed well over ₦300 million for a purported Stage 4 cancer treatment,” the petition stated.

Counsel to the petitioner described the situation as deeply distressing, alleging that while Deborah battled her illness, the influencer used her identity and falsified medical information to raise funds that were diverted into private accounts and never remitted to the patient.

The family further accused Blessing CEO of cyberbullying after Deborah and her relatives reportedly raised concerns over inconsistencies in the fundraising campaign.

A copy of the petition shows it was received at the Office of the Executive Chairman of the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja on April 8, 2026.

The family is now calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the influencer, describing the alleged act as a “heartless exploitation” of a life-threatening condition.

Blessing CEO, known for her controversial online presence, has previously been embroiled in several public disputes. The latest allegations come amid increasing government scrutiny of online fundraising activities and social media-based solicitations.

Should the EFCC establish a prima facie case, the self-styled relationship expert may face charges bordering on obtaining money under false pretences, forgery, and cyberstalking.
