The 2027 House of Representatives race in Bende Federal Constituency gathered further momentum as the Concerned Citizens Grassroot Mobilization, Bende Local Government Area, declared its support for the Labour Party candidate, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso (Ofuji), during a solidarity visit to him at Ofuji Resort, Igbere.

The delegation said the visit was aimed at reaffirming its confidence in Dr. Anyaso’s leadership qualities and formally endorsing his aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general election.

Presenting the group’s address, the Secretary of the organisation, Hon. Patrick Orji Eze, said members of the delegation came not merely as political supporters but as concerned citizens convinced that Bende deserves purposeful, responsive and development-driven representation.

He noted that the constituency stands at a critical point in its political history, stressing that the people are yearning for a representative capable of translating Bende’s abundant human and economic potential into sustainable development.

According to him, the people desire effective representation that will attract impactful constituency projects, empower youths and women, improve education and healthcare, promote agriculture, create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth across the constituency.

Eze expressed confidence that Dr. Anyaso possesses the vision, capacity and commitment required to deliver such purposeful representation if elected in 2027.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Concerned Citizens Grassroot Mobilization, Bende LGA, High Chief Okechukwu Orikeze, described Dr. Anyaso as a compassionate philanthropist whose numerous humanitarian interventions have positively impacted lives across the constituency through his personal resources.

He maintained that Anyaso’s longstanding commitment to community development, youth empowerment and humanitarian service demonstrates the quality of leadership required to move Bende Federal Constituency to greater heights.

Orikeze further expressed optimism that Dr. Anyaso would provide a more robust, people-oriented and development-focused representation than the current occupant of the seat if entrusted with the mandate in 2027.

Responding, Dr. Anyaso expressed gratitude to the delegation for the confidence reposed in him and for identifying with his aspiration.

He said his decision to seek elective office was driven by a genuine desire to serve the people rather than personal ambition, assuring that his leadership would be anchored on integrity, compassion and sustainable development.

According to him, the time has come for the people of Bende Federal Constituency to enjoy purposeful representation centred on human capital development, quality infrastructure, economic empowerment and inclusive growth.

The Labour Party standard-bearer stressed that true representation should be measured by the opportunities created for the people, the lives positively impacted and the communities transformed, assuring that his vision for Bende extends beyond winning an election.

The visit highlighted the increasing role of grassroots mobilisation in shaping the political landscape of Bende Federal Constituency as stakeholders continue consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among those present were the Mayor of Bende LGA, Dcn. Uwabunkeonye Bassy; the Deputy Mayor, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Anya; Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Campaign Organisation, Pastor Okechukwu Dike (Eriwe); Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, as well as other political leaders, community stakeholders and supporters from across the constituency.
