June Reflection: Anyaso Urges Nigerians to Demand Accountability as Political Season Approaches

As Nigerians usher in the month of June, the Labour Party’s 2027 candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has called on citizens to become more engaged in the nation’s democratic process and hold leaders accountable for their actions.

Reflecting on the first five months of the year, Anyaso said he remained grateful to God for the blessings and progress recorded so far in 2026. However, he noted that the prevailing economic realities facing millions of Nigerians continue to be a source of concern.

According to him, rising hardship, economic uncertainty, and worsening living conditions have placed immense pressure on families across the country, making it increasingly difficult for many citizens to meet their daily needs.

“As we begin the sixth month of the year, I reflect on the journey so far with mixed feelings. While the year has been rewarding and I remain thankful to God for His blessings, I cannot ignore the challenges confronting millions of Nigerians,” he said.

The Labour Party chieftain stressed that leadership choices have a direct impact on the quality of life of citizens, urging Nigerians to pay closer attention to governance and the records of those seeking public office.

“As the political season gradually unfolds, let us remember that leadership decisions have consequences. The quality of leadership we choose ultimately shapes the quality of life we live,” Anyaso stated.

He encouraged voters to be more conscious, informed, and demanding of accountability, advising them to critically assess political leaders based on performance rather than campaign promises.

“Listen carefully. Ask questions. Examine records. Reward performance, not promises. A better Nigeria begins with an informed and vigilant citizenry,” he added.

Anyaso’s message comes at a time when political activities are beginning to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, with stakeholders calling for greater citizen participation and responsible leadership across all levels of government.
