Ahead of the 2027 general elections, women across Bende Local Government Area have declared strong support for the House of Representatives ambition of frontline political figure, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso (Ofuji), in what could be described as a major boost to his growing grassroots movement.
The solidarity gathering, hosted by Dr. Anyaso’s elder sister, Barr. Dr. Ngozi Ekeoma, alongside his wife, Dr. Adanna Anyaso, attracted influential women leaders, political stakeholders and supporters from various communities across Bende Federal Constituency.
The event served as a strategic platform to deepen grassroots mobilisation and consolidate support for Dr. Anyaso’s aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency at the National Assembly in 2027.
Addressing the gathering, the Wife of the Mayor of Bende LGA, Mrs. Geraldine Uwabunkonye Bassy, urged women in the area to unite in support of Dr. Anyaso, describing him as a compassionate and visionary leader with the capacity to attract meaningful development to the constituency.

Delivering her keynote address, the Deputy Mayor of Bende LGA, Chief Mrs. Ngozi Anya, stated that the 2027 political arrangement offers Bende North (Umunna) a significant opportunity to produce the next member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives.
According to her, Dr. Anyaso’s growing popularity, leadership credentials and grassroots acceptance position him as a strong contender capable of effectively representing the people.
Several women leaders who spoke at the event reaffirmed their commitment to the Anyaso project and pledged support for the re-election of Governor Alex Otti in 2027.
Among them were the Onugu Women Leader of Bende LGA, Mrs. Nkechinyere Gift Dick; Abia Arise Women Leader, Mrs. Okorie Stella Ezinne; ASMATA Women Leader, Mrs. Cordelia Chukwu; and the Women Leader of Chima Anyaso Foundation, Mrs. Arisa Okparigbo.

He assured the women that their support would not be taken for granted, promising inclusive representation, women empowerment initiatives and people-oriented legislation if elected into office.
The event featured special prayers for Dr. Anyaso’s political aspiration, distribution of bags of rice and wrappers to women, as well as a cash support package of ₦5 million aimed at assisting women across the constituency.
Dignitaries present at the occasion included the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha; former Chairman of Bende LGA, Pastor Okechukwu Dike; and other notable political leaders and stakeholders from across the local government area.
